Celebrity choreographer Alex Da Silva accused of raping 4 women



Police in Los Angeles arrested Alex Da Silva, a dancer and choreographer on Fox’s show “So You Think You Can Dance,” on Saturday on suspicion of sexually assaulting four women. The 41-year-old salsa dancer was also accused in 2003, 2004, and 2005 of sexually assaulting three women, but charges in all three cases were dropped for unknown reasons.

Officer Jason Lee says Alex Da Silva was taken into custody Saturday and held on $3.8 million bail.

Detectives say the alleged assaults occurred between May 2003 and March 28. The female accusers told police Da Silva lured them to his homes in North Hollywood and Van Nuys, used a ruse to get them into his bedroom and raped them.

It's not immediately known whether the 41-year-old Da Silva has retained an attorney. The voicemail for a phone number posted on his Web site was full and wouldn't accept messages.Police believe that there may have been more victims. Producers of “So You Think You Can Dance” invite guest choreographers like Da Silva to create original routines for its contestants.
